by increased demands and CO$lS of 1 endcnng sen•1cc. Those
of us who can mcrcasc out gitts by this amount should do
so. Man\' work~r~ in Portland ha,•c _et aside 1' r of their •
salary as a gift goal.
Lnst vear our total gift as a college was $1,438. We ha\'c
been 3..;ked to increase this amount to only $1,582, which
amounts to a 10'0 incrt!aSt?, because it is recognized that
our enrollment .is lower nnd our staff and faculty are some
what reduced. The other colle~cs m th~.· area are out to meet
the1r suggested goal. We hnv~.? always had n keen rh•alry
with Reed college, which matches our gifts C\'en though
they are a good bit smaller.
We hope that our response to the work of the 64 agencies
who represent us at key s1tuations through out the community
wiiJ be generous on our part and prompt.

Lnst vear our total gift as a college was $1,438. We ha\'c

amounts to a 10'0 incrt!aSt?, because it is recognized that
our enrollment .is lower nnd our staff and faculty are some
