The freshman hazing p~riod ts over.
Following are but a £ew of the reasons that were rcspon
~ible for the student counctl's cancdlation of the proposed
barbaric e:-.:hibtuon
1. The J. C. Stevens disaster car wa.a unabJo to handle the
entire freshman class.
2-The shipment of brass knuckles to bo used by uppor

Are 1'ou an. Offender?
Something must be done lo alleviate the ''gunning" of
cars that is t.aki!lg~!~~ in the freshman and sophomore mez
zanine parking area.
The lot JS not pa\'ed and the rapid acceleration or cars
constitutes a dangerous hazard Several drivers have com·
plained that their cars have been dented and scratched by
flying rocks.
We are not accusing treshmen or :sophomo1es as a group
for these conditions. But it is plain that lhere are individuals
among them who should not be allowed to dri\·e their cars
on the campus.
If these offenders are not stopped, someone is going to ,g( l
struck and seriously injured by flying stones.
Any student seeing drh·e~ showing of! in this way.
should write dov,on the car's license number and report it to
Joe Hoopes, superintendent of maintenance.
In this way a serious nuisance can be eliminated.

1. The J. C. Stevens disaster car wa.a unabJo to handle the
