The Voyageur (1943-1969)
In 1942 Albany College acquired the Frank Estate in Portland and as a part of its relocation, renamed itself Lewis & Clark College. The college also rebranded its yearbook as The Voyageur, a French term meaning traveler, which was applied to describe North American fur traders. As the college established itself on Palatine Hill its student population increased dramatically with the an influx of World War II veterans enrolling under the G.I. Bill. The yearbooks expanded accordingly and became extensively illustrated chronicles of the academic year.
