The Pioneer Log (1942-2022), The Mossy Log (2022-)
The first issue of The Pioneer Log (titled First Edition) was published during Lewis & Clark's first semester on October 13, 1942. The newspaper has been published continuously from 1942 to the present during the Fall and Spring academic terms. The Pioneer Log is one of the best resources for information on Lewis & Clark College history. In particular, the newspaper documents student activities, athletics, and major administrative actions. In 2022, the editorial staff of the student newspaper made the decision to rename their publication to The Mossy Log in an effort to distance their organiziation from the school's controversial mascot. The newspaper's website keeps their archive updated and it's the most reliable source for all recent issues of The Log.
