llfu i ·al Re:tat nzent
We do NOT recommend changing the concert selections
on the Lev.•is and Clark campus. \Vhat we DO recommend
as an all-out producuon for lhosc who do not especially care
for more profound serious music.
ElsewhEre on th1s page is a letter by AI Lc.hl explaining
the music department's side of the question. He draws the
analogy of the LOG becoming a total humor magazine .
This is essentially noi a good comparison because we
would have to completely overhaul our style but what we arc
asking of the music department is an addition to the present
set-up.
Our own analogy runs this way: if we were lo leave out
the sports section of the LOG with the e..xplanation that it was
no good readmg for the students nnd complaints were to ar
rive we would feel obligated to appease the desire for a sports
section. •
We have received word from Arthur Coc Gray of the
drama department that all cooperation necessary for such an
undertaking would be forthcoming from that source.
With the students on one side and one-hAlf of the nec
essMy department ready to help with the show let's draft the
music department.
