This will be the final issue of this newspaper for an indeterminate length
of time. Robert Pamplin Jr. has taken an interest in our little student news
paper and has invited our entire staff to come and work for him on the
Portland Tribune. Although we regret having to leave Lewis & Clark with
out a student newspaper, none of us could pass up Mr. Pamplin's offer of
about 25 times what we are currently earning here at Lewis & Clark. We
encourage you to pick up a copy of the Tribune for your reading pleasure.
If there are interested students who would like to take overr the newspa
per, we do have money remaining in our budget if you'd like to keep the
paper running this year. Otherwise, we're looking for people to join us in
spending that money on a giant kegger in the office, date to be deter
mined.
This is also an excellent time to get started for those of you who were
interested in starting you own underground newspaper (and you know
who you are). With no competition, your paper would surely impress the
students.
If you have any questions or comments, we will be checking our email
tprough the end of May so you can continue to write us at piolog@lclark.edu
With that, we Qid you farewell.
