Die Akustik

In 1802, Chladni published Die Akustik, which included his findings and observations on sound, including his estimation of the speed of sound. The book notably details the vibration of surfaces  created by sound waves via sand-covered plates.

The 11 tables on the left are all from Die Akustik, which geometrically model the vibrations of elastic bodies from his experiments.
