Christmas 1s an affirmation of the new law, wh1ch through
lo,·c, js obeyed. It is diificult to realize and separate Jo,•e
m tlte hustle and bustle of Christmas . hopping, Santa Claus
and gaily decorated trees. It might come with the C\'C of the
miracle of ChriSt's birth when the ~kics dark~n and the
shadows fnde into a real silent night.
We no longer have to walk to the door and check the
cap!:iulc \\'Jth the me.·sage of law and lO\'C as a reminder of
our duty tow·ard our Creator and toward other men. The
day we are .soon lo hold in reverence marks the change in
tenor and placement of the law-and e.c;pecially after more
than 1500 years-it should be written on the heart.
