portant thmg that we, as a student body, have to do? One
scarceh· needs a se<:ond thought before respondmg with a re-• soundmg "• 10" And yet "actions speak louder than words.''
and the u~e of the fund_ beu-ays vnlues.
Currently the campus is alive with student resentment
because 1ts questtons are not answered and no one listens to
ats opmaons. Many feel that student government should
be aUowed to shan~ in deds10ns about issues more vital than
May Fete and Homecoming. A few heretics feel that even
basic colle_gc policy 1s not too holy for student contnbution.
And yet. when it comes ~o the distribution of student body
fund~ we suck closely to the tradttaonal actl\'ltlCS, shunning
anythmg that smacks of the cducat10nal with a blithe, "oh.
let the administrauon pay for thnt."
How could the student bod • use its funds in a manner
more in keepmg with the nghts it claims? We like the idea
of a student-body sponsored counseling center. which would
sen·e the needs of those students whose problems call :for
professional help. Another dream is a joint selection of con
vocation, assembly and commencement speakers . wilh a
jomt sharing of c.xpensc. Certainly several of the c ·1stmg
accounts could
1grcatly benefit by an enlarged budget. There
are more possibilities for using money than :.here is space

and the u~e of the fund_ beu-ays vnlues.
