In todoy'.:-LOG a letter to the cd1toz· nppcn1~ tlttlt ~hould
b~.; very importnnt to all :>tudents at LC. It crihch:c~ lhe
prncltce of holding final e:-.:ams on Friday fo"Jlow.ing n' .,.Cltool
day on Thur.-;duy.
A qmck look at the last fmnl mdicate!- thnt there were two
thrcc-hotli· fmnl!' held on l"'nday. The 8 n.m . .Monda.', Wed
ncl)dav nnd Frida\' hour class final is slah.'<i Cor 8 o.m. Also • w
on the sc:ht>dulc for the aft<'rnoon is the 2 p.m. Mondny, W~d -
nc~da~· and Fnday class.
Darr~~l Wilson brings up a good point \\ h~· hold such n
b1g final on the da~· after classes let out? The R a.m. class is
a 'c-ry popular one be' mse of the many com·ses held nt that
hour. He suggests t lJ .11 finals slnted for .I<'ridny be stopped
to gh·e more tune for stud,·.
The next step in !'Oh·m~ the problem would be for the ~tu
dent counc1l to look into these ::.uggesHons and see if there is
any possiblity of changing the :final c.xam st'hcdule.s to a mor~
reasonable time. A committee could be selected to meN
wath the faculty aud the administration to work something
out which would meet with C\ eryone's approval.
The LOG :recogmzes the fact that students have a habit
of saying, "I don't care what they do, as long as they don't
do oything that will affect me.'' Het c is n case where n num
ber of students have complained :for years about something
and yet do not carry thetr comments any .further than the
shack. It 1s now too late to do anything about whnt has gone
on m the past. But, no\v is the time to pas the ball to the
student counCJI, the student ,·oice to the faculty and ndminis
trabl)n and let Lhem carry it from here.
