We realil!e that the arduous chore or t>Cmt...nnnunl r~glStrn

nnd complaints we could em:aly dig up on thu subject, but there
as one matter that we hnd highly irntnhnf It concerns !iOme
of the faculty. We place the cmphosis on SOME.
Why 1s it that when students have lo ~t!lnd an those
ghB.SUy lin~ for hours, some of the faculty cons1ders It too
much to sil in the chairs prov1dcd for them-at the tables where
the • are sch">dulcd. We know of n number of studenlS who
have had th~ agony of registration prolonged bC'Cause the
prof they wanted 'lO see e\1idently thought it wasn't W6rth h1s
"hile to sit all the time he '"'US scheduled to.
Possibly they thought that since some other member of
thetr department \\'llS ther", they needn't be. Or perhaps
these profs f1guren that since there were few majors in their
departments 1t wasn't worth the time to sit out the long
stretches. And we know of .omc who took the1r own sweet
time getting back from lunch, too.
Don't misunderstand. We lo\·e most of the {acultv. We •
merely feel that nc...'\t registration they should return our af
fection by being there when we want them dunng lCgistra-
taon.
Last year the college went to a gr~nt deal of ~.xpense to
enlarge the ireshrilan parking lot cl~nr out to where Palater
road enters Palatine Hilll"oad . Now at least half of the fresh
man lot stands empty ever~ day while seniors hn,·c to double
park, park in the roads and generally use every conceivable
method of squeezing themselves mto U1c space allotted to
them. The ituat1on as especially bad in the area between the
cafeteria and the theater.
ln \iew o[ the abo,·e s1tuntion. why is 1t that juniors nre
allowed to park in whot up to this year wns senior territory ,
1. e., the east Slde of the gym" Also why have the sophomores
been moved up to JUnior grounds?
We suggest a return to previous boundaries. There's cer
tainly plenty of room in the freshman lot and the seniors are
beginning to resemble sardines.

nnd complaints we could em:aly dig up on thu subject, but there
as one matter that we hnd highly irntnhnf It concerns !iOme
of the faculty.

Last year the college went to a gr~nt deal of ~.xpense to

road enters Palatine Hilll"oad .
