llfore Than rz Chair's Worth ~
With pleasure the student body would like to express
their thanks to Alpha Rho Omega fraternit y for their worth
while proJect, the "do everything" electric wheelchair, award
ed to Bob Lacanale last Tuesday at convocation.
Their efforts last January and February to collect dona·
tions from students and faculty paid off-not just for Bob La
canale, but for the pleasure of givmg Cor a good cause.
Elsewhere on this page, Bob expresses his appreciation
for the cha1r, but tt is U1e ASLC who should be thanking him.
His success in surmoun ting obstacles has mspired many of
them to go on-when they think they have troubles. 1
Surely ev~ryone received more benefit than the $500
value of the chair. It is a lesson in the fine art of giving .•

It's Your Job
May 16 Lewis and Clar.k will be visilt.>d by hundreds of
high school seniors as they come to look over the college and
decide if they want this campus to be their home next year.
On the Friday they arnvc, it is every student's duty to be
here to meet them, to talk to them, to show th(•m around.
There is a l"Ommltlee working out the del-nils now. But their
plans will be of no value if the students arc not behind them.
Nor should the faculty run off and hide. It should bu ready
to sit down with prospective students and explain what each
department has to offer. Thcr~' must be a constructive point
to the day. The seniors should not conside•· it Just n chancP. to
be excused from classes.
If the day IS successful, and we're sure it will be, another
good tradition will have had its st&rl here.

llfore Than rz Chair's Worth ~
