Trifles features student director

The Lewis and Clark Theatre Department pr<."SCnts Trifles, a play
Susan Glaspell, directed by LC student Jcnifer Mathews.
Trifles, adapted from the ~tory A Jury of Htr Pcm, nlso by Claspell,
in the early 1900's, explores tTaditionaJ male and female sex roles. Minnit
Foster ls jailed as a suspect in the murder of her husband and as the sherW
Mr. Hale and the county attorney comb the Wright home for clues tht
women occupy themselves with "trifles.'' As it turns out, the men fail to finJ
any lc.tds in their inquiry while these "womanly tnflcs" reveal the eviden((
and mohves for the murder.
Th1s one--act play features students Delia Ryan, Tori Dixion, Camero ~
Poole, Boreas van Nouhuys and Matthew Lehrfeld. The play runs
day, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 19 at 1230 p.m. in the Black Box of Fir
