1905 Women's State Basketball Champions. Albany College always received women on equal terms with men, not making separate rules for them as with some neighboring colleges. Organized in 1899, the women's basketball team was a pioneer in the state. In 1905 the team tied Oregon Agricultural College (now Oregon State University) for the state championship. A play-off game was arranged to be held at the neutral ground of the Portland YMCA. The Albany women won, 20-12.
