Project Description
The Jean Ward Collection on Gender Studies was established to recognize the many contributions of Jean M. Ward, Professor of Communication at Lewis & Clark College from 1964-2006. Jean was a founder of the Gender Studies Symposium and the founder and initial director of the Gender Studies Program at the College.
The Jean Ward rare books and archival collections document the suffrage movement and the lives of women during the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with a particular focus on women in Oregon. Please check the Watzek online catalog for location information on the rare books collection. The archival manuscript and research collections finding aid is available here.
